Lexus has just unveiled the pricing of its first all-electric vehicle, the RZ 450e EV, and it’s putting a priority on features rather than range. The new Lexus EV comes loaded with tech and luxury, but it only has an estimated range of about 200 miles per charge. The RZ 450e EV is the latest entry into the growing EV market and marks an important milestone for Lexus as they dip their toes into electric mobility. In this blog post, we will be taking a closer look at how the RZ 450e stacks up to other EVs in terms of features and price, as well as comparing its range to other models on the market. Read on for all the details!

The new Lexus RZ 450e EV

The RZ 450e EV is the latest electric vehicle from Lexus. It’s priced at $85,900, which puts it in the same ballpark as other luxury EVs like the Tesla Model S and the Jaguar I-Pace. But unlike those cars, the RZ 450e EV is focused on features and not range.

That’s not to say that the RZ 450e EV doesn’t have good range – it can travel up to 300 miles on a single charge. But its focus is on providing a more luxurious experience than its rivals. For example, it comes with a 26 speaker Mark Levinson sound system, a heads-up display, and adaptive cruise control.

If you’re looking for an electric vehicle that puts the emphasis on luxury rather than range, then the Lexus RZ 450e EV is worth considering.

Pricing and features

The all-new Lexus RX e EV has been priced at $75,950 plus on-road costs, with the brand putting the priority on features rather than range.

As the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the Lexus line-up, the RX e EV is based on the petrol-electric hybrid RX 450hL and shares its 3.5-litre V6 engine with that model.

However, while the hybrid uses its electric motor for supplemental power, the BEV’s electric motor is the sole source of propulsion. It produces 150kW of power and 400Nm of torque, and is mated to a single-speed direct drive transmission.

The battery pack has a capacity of 60kWh, which Lexus says will give the RX e EV a real-world range of approximately 320km in urban and suburban driving conditions. This falls short of rivals like the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X, but Lexus says it focused on delivering “a superior level of daily usability” rather than outright range.

Range

The RZ e has a range of up to 200 miles on a single charge, which is more than enough for most drivers. However, if you’re looking for an electric car with a longer range, there are plenty of other options available. The RZ e’s focus on features and value makes it a great choice for those who don’t need the longest range possible.
