Get ready to charge across America! EV charging provider LNG Electric has announced a game-changing partnership with design firm MD7. Together, they will install Level 2 and Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) EV charging stations at over 13,000 hotels across the US.
This move will make LNG Electric one of the top 3 owner-operators of EV charging stations in the country. Beginning this month, Level 2 chargers will be installed with the aim of rolling out 13,000 chargers over the next five to six years. This will create a charging network covering 10%-15% of the US hospitality market.
The collaboration between LNG Electric and MD7 aims to make EVs a viable transportation method for hotel guests, bringing affordable EV grid access to people at every income level. MD7’s expertise in connected infrastructure will cause these charging stations to be top-of-the-line.
By contributing more than $1.2 trillion to America’s gross domestic product, the tourism industry is of immense importance. As a result, LNG Electric’s initiative could cause the electric vehicle industry as a whole to experience a massive boost.
LNG Electric’s 13,000 new hotel charging stations will greatly benefit the many Americans who want to travel by electric car but are constrained by the lack of infrastructure. In a recent survey of 1,500 JuiceBox customers, more than two-thirds of respondents said that access to a DCFC station on route is essential for road trips over 200 miles.
LNG Electric’s first charging stations will be built at Marriott and Hilton hotels in Ohio, Florida, and Illinois. Be on the lookout for them when you take your next road trip!
