ELECTROMOBILITY –

(Part 5 Green Hospitals)

FOREWORD

Environmental pollution due to the use of transportation affects both urban and rural areas, being an important health problem due to the social cost it entails.

Defined as the use of impulse or traction systems that use electrical energy applied to different means of transportation, electromobility generates benefits that are aligned with sustainable development policies in the world (environmental, energy and economic).

In the area of Health we propose to change transportation options for all hospital users (patients and health team) by developing strategies for the provision of electrical units and services to reduce the carbon footprint and exposure to other related contaminants.

Always with our eyes set on the Green Hospital.

This local contamination is the fundamental reason for the promotion and development of policies and investments on the subject.

CURRENT PROBLEM AND CONSEQUENCES

In Health we have a fleet of hospital vehicles that use fossil fuels both for deliveries of various materials and to transport patients and employees.

Exposure to toxic substances derived from the use of these fuels causes respiratory pathologies that alter general organic immunity and especially lung immunity.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Adopt units converted to electric for the fleet of medical vehicles.

Locate charging facilities within communities close to the public, to reduce distances traveled by patients and employees.

The community integration of medical care centers through their adequate distribution and accessibility so that they are more efficient.

Improve the use of electric transportation in the supply chain through local suppliers or those that travel in low-emission vehicles.

Promote telemedicine (in cases where this is feasible) through distance health programs and use of mobile phones for consultations;  Travel is reduced and emissions are avoided.

Prepare in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation promotions with banks to encourage the conversion of electric motors;  which facilitates transit to health centers and thus helps to preserve the environment.

Develop distance health programs and training on the use of electromobility.

BENEFITS

With electric vehicles there will be no exhaust emissions and the air to breathe will have fewer toxic substances, thus preventing cardiopulmonary diseases.

We talk about Positive Impact for health and the environment, with energy savings through the use of renewable formats.

WHAT’S COMING;  ELECTROMOBILITY

Electric mobility will revolutionize the way we move, offering more sustainable solutions for the environment and health.

Its application will depend on factors such as costs, legislation, education and internal hospital redesign.

Awareness will be raised through the development of training and instructional programs for patients and healthcare workers to achieve a green and breathable future.

Aiming at a change in people’s mobility will be essential for societies as a whole to collaborate with the environment.

SYNTHESIS:

The objective is to ensure that the health benefits of electromobility reach more people through the application of multiple measures developed in conjunction with political personnel, doctors, technicians and engineers supported by investments and educational programs for the entire commune.

Equipping the fleet with ambulances converted to electric to reduce costs and avoid the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is an applicable measure, as is the promotion of the use of public transportation with discounts to encourage it, as well as the promotion of other means. of locomotion.

The commitment of the fleet of electric taxis to transport patients and doctors, in addition to electric mobile laboratories and vaccination centers “bringing the hospital closer” to the population for these common needs.

 Promote telemedicine.

CONCLUSION:

With the introduction of highly efficient technology and with the changes towards sustainable electromobility, we will avoid the release of toxic gasses, contributing to the decarbonization of our energy matrix.

By regulating efficiency by reducing polluting emissions, we also help save hospital costs and part of their monetary resources which can be allocated to other management areas in favor of their patients.

The projects carried out based on the concept of sustainability and electromobility applied to the Health area allow the creation of multiple living spaces with better performance while respecting the environment in order to also satisfy the needs of the current generation without putting the capacity of future generations at risk.
