This electric powerhouse has already set world records at some of the most prestigious racetracks. It made a mark at Germany’s Nurburgring Nordschleife track and claimed the title of the fastest electric vehicle at California’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, with a lap time of 1:27.87 minutes. In a notable race, the Taycan Turbo GT bested a Tesla Model S by 18 seconds, showcasing its superior speed and handling.
Kevin Giek, the vice president of the model line, praised the Taycan’s performance capabilities. He highlighted the car’s engineering, emphasizing the balance of acceleration, braking, cornering grip, aerodynamics, stability, and fine-tuning that sets it apart.
“The two records at Laguna Seca and on the Nordschliefe show what great track potential there is in the Taycan,“ Kevin Giek said.
“The overall package of accelerating and braking, cornering grip, aerodynamics, stability, and fine-tuning has to be right. In the Taycan Turbo GT and the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package in particular, our engineers have achieved this in absolutely stunning fashion,“ he added.
For those eager to experience this remarkable speed, Porsche is now accepting preorders for the Taycan Turbo GT. Buyers have the option between the standard four-seat variant and the Weissach Package edition, each designed to offer an unrivaled electric driving experience.
Porsche has firmly positioned the Taycan Turbo GT at the forefront of high-performance electric mobility with its impressive acceleration and world record-setting lap times. The Taycan Turbo GT not only surpasses its rivals but also sets a new benchmark for electric vehicle performance, challenging the industry to match its speed and engineering prowess.
